Champagne Louis Roederer Luxury company

Owned by the same family since it was founded in Reims in 1776, Louis Roederer is one of the last great champagne houses to maintain its independence, sealing its fate together with that of its land from the very beginning. It all started when founder Louis Roederer, a visionary who went against the common practices of the time, decided to purchase his vines and to gain an understand of his vineyard and a mastery of the craft involved in its running. The vineyard itself - a real jewel that has been gradually added to over time on the best terroirs the Champagne region has to offer in terms of both Grand and Premiers Crus - now spans over 590 acres and is solely responsible for producing Cristal and all of the estate’s vintages. As Chairman and CEO of Champagne Louis Roederer Frédéric Rouzaud, who represents the 7th generation of the family, explains: “We are deeply amazed by the magic of nature and strive to serve it as best we can in order to capture some of this magic in our wines”.

With a selection of exceptional destinations to choose from, along with 18 iconic establishments and attentive service that places the emphasis well and truly on well-being, it’s no surprise that the Barrière group is a leader in the luxury hotel industry. The construction of Le Normandy in Deauville in 1912 marked the beginning of Barrière’s activities in the hotel industry. This was also where Eugène Cornuché’s partner François André invented modern tourism by creating the concept of the ‘French-style resort’, incorporating a casino, hotels and sports facilities all under the same roof, as it were. Over the course of the past century, Barrière has risen to the top of its game and enjoyed tremendous success: the brand now operates eighteen hotels, most of which have been granted 4 or 5-star ratings, as well as a luxury grand hotel with over 2,300 guest rooms and suites and 17 riads. Barrière hotels tend to be located on the coast, with a number of establishments also in cities and in the mountains. The first Moroccan edition to the collection opened in 2009, and another in the West Indies is set to open in 2020. Wherever you choose to stay, you can be sure that the group’s identity and expertise will be reflected in a comprehensive offering that is very much in keeping with the hotel’s surroundings and the expectations of its guests, always accompanied by first-class, authentic and personal service. Whether your chosen establishment stands on the legendary Planches de Deauville, on the Croisette in Cannes, at the very heart of Paris or amid the vineyards of Alsace or the medina of Marrakech, you can be sure that you are in for an exceptional stay at any Hôtel Barrière.

Lutetia Hotel

The Hotel Lutetia is an iconic Parisian establishment located in the city’s legendary Saint-Germain-des-Prés district and the only luxury grand hotel on the left bank. First opened in 1910, the hotel embodies the emergence of the Art Deco movement at a time, during the Belle Epoque, when Art Nouveau was still very much en vogue. A cherished Parisian institution that will be celebrating its 110th anniversary in 2020, the Lutetia promises an exceptional experience at the very heart of the City of Light. The establishment was a creative hub for some of the greatest artists of the 20th century, who discreetly and unobtrusively mixed with the anonymous at this grand hotel - the birthplace of various major advances in the fields of literature, painting, science and politics. Indeed, Ernest Hemingway, James Joyce, Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse and Josephine Baker were just some of the figures who frequented the hotel on a regular basis. Following a complete renovation, the Lutetia now combines this heritage with modernity to offer high-quality services and amenities that meet the expectations of its local and international clientele. The hotel has 135 guest rooms and 49 suites, including 8 Signature Suites with a distinct feel, one of which is a penthouse complete with 796 sq.m private terrace and breathtaking views across the city. Having become something of an ambassador for French art de vivre, the hotel unsurprisingly offers a range of sophisticated dining options showcasing its rich culinary heritage, including the Brasserie Lutetia overseen by triple Michelin-starred chef Gérald Passedat. Guests can enjoy all their meals from breakfast to dinner beneath the colourful historic glass roof, designed by Fabrice Hyber, of the Salon Saint-Germain. L'Orangerie, meanwhile, serves breakfast during the week and a gourmet well-being brunch on weekends, whilst the spectacular Bar Joséphine offers a wide variety of classics for lunch and dinner, as well as the opportunity to sample Nicola Battafarano's cocktails throughout the evening in an intimate jazz setting.
